Getting started
- Try it without a key. Settings → Provider starts on Mock: click into any text box, click the W, and try every feature with sample results. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Add your own key for real results: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Groq or OpenRouter. Paste it in Settings. The Gemini free tier from Google AI Studio needs no card.
- Pick your models in Settings → Models. WriteFlow only uses and suggests the models you enable there.
- Write and reply: click inside a text box, then click the W button, or press Ctrl+Shift+Space (⌘+Shift+Space on Mac).
- Improve a prompt: in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, type six or more words and click ✨ Improve, or press Alt+Shift+I.
- Save something to review: select text on any page, right-click, and choose Save selection to Review.
Troubleshooting
- The W button doesn't appear. Check the popup and Settings → Disabled Sites. For a site that isn't supported yet, click Enable WriteFlow here in the popup. Password and payment fields are left alone on purpose.
- Social reply shows a paste box. WriteFlow couldn't read the post on that page. Paste it and your reply is still tailored. Please email the site and what you clicked so the layout can be supported.
- "Replying to" shows the wrong text. Click Not right? Edit and fix it before choosing a reply style.
- ✨ Improve doesn't show. It appears for drafts of six or more words in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Check that the Improve chip is turned on in Settings, and that a provider and key are set.
- "Free Improves used up." Your 100 free Improves are done. Every other feature keeps working, and Pro makes Improve unlimited.
- Generation fails or shows an error. Make sure the provider matches the key (an OpenAI key won't work with Anthropic selected), the model is enabled, and the key has credit.
- Pro isn't unlocking. Paste the full licence key with no spaces, while online. Verification is done by Gumroad.
- Something looks stuck. Reload the page. If it still happens, Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete all local data resets WriteFlow. Export your Review Workspace first if you use it.
Privacy
Your key and settings stay on your device. Text goes only to the AI provider you set up, and only when you ask for a result. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
